Report on VNSGU Inter College Chess Championship 2025–26

The VNSGU Inter College Chess Championship 2025–26 was successfully organised by Prof. V. B. Shah Institute of Management, R. V. Patel College of Commerce E. M., V. L. Shah College of Commerce and Sutex Bank College of Computer Applications and Science, Amroli, Surat under the guidance of our respected Principal, Dr. Mukesh R. Goyani. The championship witnessed enthusiastic participation and competitive spirit from students across the university.

Opening Ceremony

The inaugural function was graced by Dr. Yogesh Vanshiya, I/c Director, Department of Sports and Youth Welfare, VNSGU, Surat, as the Chief Guest, and Dr. Ashish Desai, Principal, SASACMA College, as the Guest of Honour. Their inspiring words motivated the participants to play with discipline, focus, and sportsmanship.

Participation

A total of 40 colleges participated in the event, with 187 students competing for the championship title in both Men’s categories.

Closing Ceremony & Prize Distribution

The closing function and prize distribution ceremony were held in the presence of Dr. Mehul P. Desai, Principal, Udhna Citizen College, and Dr. Chintu Bhai Thakkar, I/c Principal, S. B. Patel College of Computer Science and Management, Surat. They congratulated the winners and appreciated the efforts of the organisers.

Organisation & Coordination

The entire programme was meticulously guided by our Principal, Dr. Mukesh R. Goyani, and efficiently executed by Dr. Pradeep Kumar Lenka, Sports Head, along with Dr. Hetal Dhimmar and the dedicated Sports Committee Members. Their teamwork and commitment ensured the smooth and successful completion of the championship.
